Portugal has two time zones and observes daylight saving time. Lisboa in June uses UTC+00:00.
In June, Portugal has a spring weather, with sunny days and very few rainy/cloudy days.
In Lisboa, temperatures are pleasant, averaging around 23. °C in the day and it gets cooler (15 °C) at night.
The currency of Portugal is the Euro.
Most of the banks operating in Portugal offer foreign currency exchange services and quote the exchange rates of the Euro against all major foreign currencies daily. Foreign currency can also be exchanged at hotels.
Portugal has a very extensive national network cash machines (ATMs), identified by the symbol MB (Multibanco), from which cash can be withdrawn 24 hours a day.
All major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
The electricity supply in Portugal is 220-230 volts and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
In Portugal the power sockets are of type F (also known as "Schuko"). This socket also works with plug C and plug E. Many hotels provide adaptors upon request from the reception.
Smoking is prohibited in all indoor public places, as well as in restaurants, cafes and night clubs.
Shops normally open around 09:00/ 10:00 and close around 19:00 from Monday to Wednesday (most of them with a closing break between 13:00 and 15:00), and on Saturday between 09:00/ 10:00 until 13:00.
Shops in tourist areas, large shopping centres and department stores may stay open on weekends and public holidays as well.
Banks are open on workdays (Monday to Friday) usually between 08:30 and 15:00.
Restaurants and cafes have several opening hours, but lunch is most often served between 12:00 and 14:30 and dinner from 19:00 until late in the evening.
